Regent Street Christmas event
12/11/2012

The Regent Street Christmas lights switch-on event will take place in London on Tuesday 13th November attracting crowds of hundreds.

Due to the event there will be road closures on Regent Street as well as some adjacent roads. Turn restrictions will also be in place in order to facilitate proceedings.

Mapping specialists PIE will be providing route restriction information and impacted postcodes for freight operators and local authorities to enable smooth operation.

Some restrictions will be in place as early as midnight the day before the event, however the bulk of restrictions will be in place from 3pm, then throughout the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening.

Shoppers and spectators will see the lights turned on by Olympians and Paralympians from Team GB, followed by a pyrotechnic display.

PIE Mapping has put together data detailing the impact of closed roads and the inaccessible areas based on day and night time restrictions. This data is available via the PIE Data Exchange (www.piedataexchange.com/shop/category/ events-this-week/) as well as TfL’s Freight Journey Planner -http://freightplanner.tfl.gov.uk.
