Athletes Parade

This Monday 10th September 2012 up to 800 athletes from Our Greatest Team, a combination of Team GB and Paralympics GB, will take part in a parade through central London to celebrate with the public their achievements at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The parade will consist of up to 21 floats, arranged by sport, each carrying around 40 athletes. Medal winners will be included across the whole parade.

The event will start at 1.30pm at Mansion House in the City of London and finish at by 16:00 at Buckingham Palace however the majority of roads will be closed from 6 am to midnight from

Mansion House , Queen Victoria Street, Cannon Street towards St Paul’s Cathedral, Ludgate Hill, Fleet Street, The Strand, Trafalgar Square and of course The Mall.

The associated road restrictions have been prepared by PIE Mapping ( detailing the affected postcodes, closed roads and the inaccessible areas based on day and night time restrictions.

The restriction data is included within the TfL Freight Journey Planner -  as well as the restrictions are included in the London Lorry Control Route Approver

The restriction data is also available for Operators that want to use the data within their own systems and tools via the PIE Data Exchange.
